Apple to unveil Tablet PC in November
An un-named analyst has confirmed that the Tablet PC project at Apple does exist. Also, the device will be announced sometime in September and will actually start shipping in November, just before the holiday season. At Apple, there is tremendous deal making activity that is happening to revive the album format with digital liner notes, artwork et al.
The touch sensitive device will have a 10-inch diagonal screen, and is supposed to be great for watching movies. In China and other places where such devices are made, manufacturers have already gone on a hiatus. They are waiting for Apple’s device to come out and tweak existing devices if required. The movie industry is clinching on new hopes too.
Well, if this device does come out; the following things are certain:
- The Apple AppStore revenues will skyrocket
- The device will be the new “iPod” for movies
- Amazon’s Kindle will die prematurely
The move seems so logical to make on Apple’s part that I’ll be surprised if the Apple’s Tablet PC doesn’t launch.
